More about me

My name is Josephine.

I have always been a person of arts and letters (none of that logical numerical rubbish), and I've always been a fan of stories and discovery. I like stories through all forms, but what I most enjoy is the written one - short tales of wonder, poems, and books, loaded with magic in each of their pages. What I love about books is how you can delve into magical worlds and a reality completely different to yours, and then, take part of the book and make it part of your own personal world, in your mind or outside it. I like stories of complexity and rich plots and imagery.

The idea of keeping a literary blog lingered in my mind for quite a while, and after discovering The Woodland Library by the wonderful MJ, I was really determined to start one of my own. The problem is, I live in Chile, so it's hard to come by books in the English language (donations would be lovely), and it's a sad thing because I always tend to read in a book's original language, so I can really grasp the author's imagery and meaning. Thus, you may see just a few books with time, but still, to me it's very exciting to read.

I like reading about imagined worlds, mythological and ethereal beings, historical personalities and events, childhood memories and adventures, boarding schools, and fantastical stories of almost any type. Faeries, witches, magical people, elves, myths, Classical history, the 15th, 18th and 19th centuries, oh, I can give a try to anything as long as it makes the mind wonder and the heart beat.

A person that reads always has a form of imagined reality, or so I believe. I have a very vast imagined world, and besides reading, I like drawing, collaging, and occasionally writing and put my daydreams into material form. I am always working in a way to become inspired.

You can find me and my compendiums of inspiration elsewhere:

As for my Tumblr, Listography and LiveJournal, I'd rather you ask me personally for them.

And you can send me an e-letter, I always reply.
